We aim to cater to a wide range of people in terms of fitness, ability and experience, but to run our trips safely we need to know you’re fit enough to do them. So, each of our trips comes with a physical/ difficulty rating attached, and therefore before signing up, please make sure you have a reasonable idea of what this trip will entail and that you feel comfortable with it. These aren’t comprehensive breakdowns, just small tips to guide you at a glance, if such a trip is right for you. The closer to 10, the more challenging it can be.

Most of our trip can be enjoyed by anyone who is reasonably fit. Our trips are a combination of hiking and exploring on foot. This calls for both stamina and flexibility - both of which can be practiced through a regular exercise routine. For example, be aware that any visit to Petra requires a fair amount of walking and climbing sometimes. The amount of energy you spend there is largely up to you if you still don’t run out of energy.

The difficulty/ physical rating indicates how much physical exertion is required on a specific trip. The majority of our tours are designed for people with average fitness levels, but there are a few specific tours (such as trekking in Wadi Rum or hiking from Dhana to Petra) that require some prior training.

1-3 out of 10 Rating (Easy activity): These trips are a relaxing break or it can be also called an ‘active holiday’ involving some moderate physical activity and a slight amount of downhill/ uphill walking in Petra. You don't have to worry about doing anything physically demanding unless you want to.

4-6 out of 10 Rating (Moderate activity): Tour days tend to be long, move at a consistent pace, and may include long travel days. Expect standing and walking for long periods of time on uneven surfaces. Some destinations may have changes in altitude and/or temperature. No physical preparation is required to make the most of the journey.

7-8 out of 10 Rating (Challenging activity): May include lots of sightseeing walks, climbing stairs, walking longer distances, tolerating periods of standing & a longer tour duration. Sometimes on uneven terrain & may be on your feet for an extended duration.

9-10 out of 10 Rating (Strenuous activity): The highest difficulty/ physical rating: Tour days tend to be long, move at a vigorous pace, and may include lengthy travel days with some extreme conditions. You will be expecting a heart-pumping adventure with plenty of challenges such as long periods of walking and standing on rough surfaces. Scheduled activities may require physical effort or have distinct changes in altitude or temperature. The fitter you are, the more you'll enjoy it! Physical preparation is recommended, and you'll be required to be seriously fit for these sorts of trip as difficult activities are included.
